During our weekly walkabouts, one of the most frequently asked
question is always: “Elections coming?” There was one point of time that my standard answer was “within the
next 2 years”, and it changed to “about 1 and a half year” some time
later. It was until last week when I was doing the housevisit that I realized
I could now change it to “less than 1 year”. In fact, today marks the day that is 350 days from the final last date
that the next GE can be held. It is probably cliche to call this the ‘last lap’, but it is true that
many people around me has been working hard in the last few years in
anticipation for the next GE. Now is the time for us to keep up the momentum, and hope that the
result reaped at the end is a satisfactory one.
